Privacy Policy for Brick Smash 8x8
Effective Date: June 28, 2026
Last Updated: July 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Brick Smash 8x8 (“Brick Smash”, “we”, “us”, “the app”) handles information when you use our iOS application. We have designed Brick Smash to collect as little data as possible — your game data stays on your device.
Brick Smash does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:
- Your name, email, phone number, or any personal contact information
- Account credentials (we have no user accounts or login system)
- Your photos, contacts, calendar, location, or microphone data
- Any health data
- Any biometric data
- Payment card details (purchases are handled entirely by Apple)
The following data is stored locally on your device using Apple’s standard UserDefaults:
- Your high scores, game history, and statistics
- Your achievements progress
- Your selected theme (Classic, Neon, Pixel, OLED Dark)
- Your sound and haptic preferences
- Whether you have purchased the “Remove Ads” option (when available)
This data never leaves your device.
3. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdMob)
Starting with version 1.2, Brick Smash displays advertisements (interstitial and optional rewarded video) served by Google AdMob, a third-party advertising service operated by Google.
To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and process:
- Device identifiers (such as the Identifier for Advertisers, IDFA, if you grant permission)
- Advertising data (ads viewed, interactions with ads)
- Coarse device information (device model, OS version, language, IP-derived general location)
Your choices:
- App Tracking Transparency (ATT): On first launch, iOS will ask whether to allow tracking. If you decline, ads are still shown but are not personalized using your device identifier.
- Personalized vs. non-personalized ads: In the European Economic Area, UK, and Switzerland, a consent form is shown before any ads, as required by GDPR. You can decline personalized ads.
- Limit ad tracking: You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
For details on how Google uses data, see:
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- How Google uses information from apps that use their services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not receive personal data from Google — only aggregated revenue and performance reports.
4. Children’s Privacy
The app is not designed for or directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. Ads are configured as not child-directed. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us at the email below.
5. Your Rights
- View what’s stored locally: All game data is on your device.
- Delete your data: Uninstall the app. All local data is deleted with the uninstall.
- Withdraw tracking consent: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Brick Smash.
We do not have user accounts and hold no server-side data about you.
6. International Users
- GDPR / UK GDPR (EEA, UK, Switzerland): A Google-certified consent form (UMP) is presented before ads are served. The legal basis for personalized advertising is your consent, which you may decline or withdraw.
- CCPA (California): We do not sell personal information. You may opt out of personalized advertising via the ATT prompt or iOS tracking settings.
7. Data Retention
- Local data: Stored as long as the app is installed; removed on uninstall.
- Google AdMob: Data collected by Google is retained per Google’s privacy policy.
- Apple purchase records: Subject to Apple’s standard retention policy.
We retain no data ourselves.
8. Changes to This Policy
Material changes will be reflected in an updated “Effective Date” / “Last Updated” at the top and disclosed in App Store update release notes.
